Build Forward - Campus Renovations
Over the past year, Lansing Community College has been in the midst of a broad initiative that will transform teaching and learning on campus for decades to come.
Our vision was sweeping but grounded in the practical needs of our students as we purposefully designed settings and facilities that enable them to optimize their educational and professional goals.
These projects - including the renovation of two flagship buildings—will fundamentally change the student experience through dynamic and adaptable environments for teaching, learning and support. The research-based design principles within each setting prioritize student engagement, achievement and wellbeing and include:
- Technology-rich classrooms, laboratories, and infrastructure
- Student-centered commons areas that encourage learning beyond the classroom
- Inviting environments for attracting and retaining students and enhancing campus-community connections
We're confident these investments enable us to link best practices in teaching and learning with the needs of Michigan employers and with the expectations of baccalaureate-granting colleges and universities.
Whether through transfer or career programs, or K-12 partnerships with mid-Michigan schools, LCC is committed to providing a superior learning environment that effectively prepares students to participate in the knowledge economy. Together, our projects position LCC as a national leader in community college education, and reflect our commitment to Greater Lansing by creating an environment that will serve as destination years to come.
"Start Here, Get There" is more than our slogan; it's a promise to our students and our community that we intend to keep. Whether through transfer or career programs, or K-12 partnerships with mid-Michigan schools, LCC is committed to providing a superior learning environment that effectively prepares students to participate in the knowledge economy.
