BCI Business Portal for Dean Transportation
Dean Transportation has expanded its partnership with Lansing Community
College's Business & Community Institute (BCI) to provide training to school
bus drivers from around the state in the areas of Basic School Bus
Healthcare, First Aid, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training.
Through this long-term relationship, the BCI delivers training that supports Dean Transportation's places as a state leader in the area of school bus safety for students with disabilities.
About the Trainings
School Bus Healthcare
This training provides all new drivers with the necessary skills to prevent and/or respond to situations they may encounter with their riders. It will cover various medical diseases and treatments. School Bus Healthcare III provides time for skill practice pertinent for job performance.

- DIASTAT ® Information
- Diabetes Management
CPR AED and First Aid
Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED covers critical skills needed to respond to
and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the
first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives.
Participants learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. This course also teaches adult/child CPR and AED use.
